Joel is focused on helping others access new networks and build organizations that are effective and sustainable.

Paula Hamernick, Founding Partner

Director of Development

Paula is an empath, a list maker and box-checker, a behind the scenes communicator and detail catcher. A fundraising strategist. She’s the mother of seven who collects more.

Paula is passionate about encouraging and equipping leaders who are unseen and under-appreciated.

Fluid Content is a leading strategy and design firm with over 30 years of experience, specializing in creating innovative solutions for brands. By combining design thinking with business strategy, they enhance user experiences and drive meaningful change.

With expertise in brand strategy and identity development, Fluid creates comprehensive brand guidelines and brand Bibles that outline identity, purpose, and visual language, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. They also develop strategic creative, communication plans, and produce both online and offline content, leveraging traditional and digital channels

Peggy Davis
Peggy Davis is the former Vice President of Community Impact at The Chicago Community Trust. She is recognized as an expert in leadership assessment and development, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership.

Tania Kadakia
Tania Kadakia is the founder of Wrought Iron Partners (WIP), a Chicago-based real estate consulting and development firm specializing in affordable housing and community initiatives nationwide. WIP brings executive-level real estate development, assessment, and operational advising including:


• Facilities Planning: Helping organizations with space management, operational efficiency, and future growth considerations for their physical infrastructure.
• Assessment: Offering evaluations of organizational assets, financial viability, and operational workflows to maximize efficiency.
• Finance Consulting: Providing expertise in budgeting, financial assessments, and long-term financial planning.

William C. Kling, JD
William is an attorney, policy consultant, and professor with over 35 years of experience.

Mr. King brings experience in conducting an environmental scan of organizations’ handbooks, policies, procedures and practices as well as leases, contracts and other legal documentation. He also reviews governing documents including bylaws and board policies. Evaluate risk management infrastructure including insurance coverages and compliance practices.

MaryFrances McCourt
MaryFrances is an accomplished financial leader with extensive experience in higher education. She most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the University of Chicago, where she oversaw business, financial, and administrative strategies to support the University's academic, research, and patient care missions. Before joining UChicago, McCourt held the position of Senior Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at the University of Pennsylvania, where she led initiatives to modernize financial systems and expand student access.

Jair Pinedo

Jair’s expertise spans across various aspects of digital marketing, including content creation, brand strategy, audience engagement, and data-driven campaign management. Jair is a native Spanish speaker and brings experience in supporting nonprofit organization’s conversion to bilingual and multicultural competency.

Jay Schommer, CPA
The Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Christ Church of Oak Brook, Jay’s background includes leadership roles as VP of Finance at the Shedd Aquarium and CFO of the Chicago Children’s Museum. Jay is skilled in aligning financial strategy with organizational goals, fostering positive work environments, and managing financial governance and risk. Jay’s specialties include budget management, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning, with a focus on driving organizational success.
